Jenny, Care Aid Working at Eagle Ridge Hospital, Port Moody
I've lived in a small studio apartment off St. Johns Street for the last five years. It’s important to me that I live close to work, I don’t own a car and walk everywhere I go, but I’ve found it next to impossible to afford a home in Port Moody. Sitka House will provide me an opportunity to afford a home in my own community.
Jacquie & Jay – Young Family, Rent-to-Own at 50 Electronic Avenue
This program is providing us with the opportunity to own a home that we may not otherwise have gotten. The years it takes to save a down payment puts home ownership out of reach for a lot of people. Sitka House will provide the same opportunity for home ownership to other families like ours.
Janet & Neil – Tri-Cities Residents Seeking Truly Accessible Home
We’ve searched all over the area for wheelchair accessible units to fit our needs, but keep coming up empty. We've found units in wheelchair accessible buildings, but they put little thought into ensuring the units themselves, the kitchen, bathrooms, and deck, are all wheelchair accessible. Sitka House’s accessible units will provide us space built specifically for our needs.
